What's On Your Workdesk? Another Review....

Hello Friends and Fellow Desk Hoppers :)

I really wanted to play along with Julia's Link Party this week..so I am writing this blog post desperately fast this Wednesday morning. I have been so busy working on my Spark Some Creativity Saturday item that I almost forgot! This coming Saturday the 8th it is my turn and the challenge is a WEARABLE item. Be sure to stop by and check out what I am making :)

So, I was gone last week to the beautiful White mountains of Arizona. It was a very relaxing trip away :) It is really interesting for the artist and color lover in me driving up there. In this case it really is UP. We start at dusty browns and reds of Tucson, transition to the yellowish giant random boulders of Oracle. Then we hit the red sandstone columns and valleys just before Globe... while smelling the strong smells of juniper bushes everywhere Next is the amazing beautiful lands of the Apache reservations and the meandering Salt River Canyon. Going up the steep walls of the canyon are sections of pure white rock and gravel. Then when you reach the top at Show Low and Pine Top..the rock walls are almost black and very sharp...not to mention the amazing tall pines. And up there are many lakes to visit and long vistas of rolling hills which are currently golden brown with bright turquoise blue sky. It is all a feast for the artist eye! And I did quite a bit of painting while I was there. I started out trying to work on my three quarter stylized portraits from a lesson by Tam Leporte in Lifebook...ugh I am so far behind in that class now :(

The next day I decided to play with my watercolors and made these artist trading cards.

Then another 3/4 portrait attempt. I really like this one with all the purple :)

I did this ATC while we were at a lake..imaginatively named 'Big Lake' It was after we had visited the Fort Apache Museum.

Next I must have been dreaming about the beach...because this is what I painted!

And I didn't have time to finish this one before we left Pine Top. But it again very inspired by the area.

So that is what I have been up to...along with working on some altered tags for swaps (can't show you those until the ladies have received them) And of course my very important Kraaft Shaak Design Team Spark Some Creativity Saturday WEARABLE item :) To see what Sandra made last Saturday for her challenge...click Artfully Made
