Shimmery Grateful Tag for Tag it Tuesday

Hello My Delightful Friends!

Today I am sharing with you my tag for 'Tag it Tuesday' over at my friend Sheri's blog Cards and More by Sheri. Each month she offers an opportunity to share a tag project you have made using her theme. You can join the linky party and link up your blog with others. It is a lot of fun and I hope you all can join in :) The theme this month was Fall/Thanksgiving and so I made a shimmery fall tag with pumpkins and gourds and fall colors :)

Among the many things I am grateful for this year are the friendships I am developing with the fabulous ladies that belong to the Kraaft Shaak Design Team (see them HERE). We have been chatting at all hours on Google Hang Outs and sending each other things. One of the recent ideas that Heather had was a paper napkin swap. You should SEE the fantastically colorful and graphic napkins I have received. My collection is amazing and I like to just look at them all fanned out on my desk :) However, the idea is to use them.,..so I am doing that today with my tag. I started with a fall napkin and a piece of 140 pd weight watercolor paper cut to 3" X 7".

I used liquid matte medium to brush onto my paper and then I laid the napkin over it where I wanted the design to be. I had already removed the blank second ply from the napkin. You should save these for gelli printing or sprays...they can make beautiful collage papers.

When my napkin dried I trimmed off the excess and saved it for another project. Then I watered down some white gesso and brushed over and splattered to add more visual interest. But mostly because I wanted to add my own artistic style to the project and not just bring you a napkin glued to a tag..LOL

Next I got our some of that very shimmery Pebeo Dyna heavy body acrylic paint. This stuff is soooo shimmery and pretty. I used a small round brush to add the paint and give lots of highlights and burst of color to my tag. Then in the upper corner I sprays Heidi Swapp Colorshine spray for more gold glimmer. I had also trimmed the upper corners and punched a hole to make this a real tag :)

Now for a focal point. I found a Stampin' Up! stamp in my stash that said the word grateful..perfect! I stamped that on a piece of off white cardstock with threads of olive green and flecks of brown. I used Archival ink by Ranger in the color potting soil.

I had a some skeleton leaves that I wanted to add a bit of color and shimmer to so I used Heidi Swapp Colorshine spray in Tea Stain to spray those. Then I used a combination of Dylusions Tangerine and Heidi Swapp Tea Stain and Gold to color a flower from Recollections.

I used a metal finding in a antique gold to frame my word and attached my two skeleton leaves and my flower with tacky glue. Then I added a brown sequin from my new dollar store sequin collection to the center of the flower and highlighted it with Stickles glitter glue.

To finish my tag I added shimmer gold cardstock as a backing layer and then some sari ribbon in orange and red tied with some gold metallic cord at the top.

I hope you enjoy my shimmer fall grateful tag and that you will join in over at Cards and More by Sheri!
