I f you have not yet heard of desking...there is an opportunity to hop around the world each Wednesday getting a peek into the creative process of many fun people! Check it out over at Stamping Ground :)

So as you can see I am making some quick Valentine cards while trying out my collection of new Tattered Angel brands mists and paints with some stencils and layering. Wow are my fingers purpley pink stained :)
In my last post I talked about the popularity of collaborations I have been exposed to since I started joining in with the creative community on Youtube. So in that spirit I would like to share today one fun collaboration I hosted recently. The result of the collaboration is pretty darn awesome! What we did is I found a 9 piece children's puzzle, There were 8 people participating and so I sent our a piece of the puzzle to each person and kept 2 back to do myself. There were no color/theme/style rules. Just decorate the piece in a way that suits you or represents your personality. Once I received all the pieces back I was so amazed at each individual piece of art. I painted the frame black and then inserted all the pieces back in. It really turned out SO COOL. I drew names out of a bowl for the person who wins the puzzle to hang in their studio. Congratulations Lizzie Beth :)

DeleteWow that is beautiful! It's great how it they were all done separately but came together so wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteSharon K#45
Thank you Sharon :) Yes, it was amazing that they all worked well together with no rules :)
DeleteThe puzzle is so much fun! I have a few that I have done (as you did yours) over the years! I have a chocolate themed one, and a medieval themed one! It is amazing how well they come together considering each one is by a different artist! Thanks for letting me remember some good times! Lindart #54
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Lindart :) I bet those puzzles you have are awesome! It was a fun collaboration and maybe we will do a themed one sometime.
DeleteOh I move me some spray fun! Your collage heart is lovely. Isn't the collaborative idea such a good one, there are so many gifted people out there. I love that each piece is so different. They scare me a lot, when the 'thing' arrives..I get the vapours about what I should do to be good enough!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Julia :) I know what you mean about those darn vapours! I think we all get a bit scared when faced with the actual project that seemed so easy as just an idea..lol
DeleteIt was a fun project Shel. Thanks for thinking it up and including me. I love, love, LOVE how it turned out. And having a little fun guessing game of "who did what" was the perfect way to end!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sylvia :) It sure was fun! I am glad you participated and that it all turned out so well in the end :)
DeleteThe collaborative art work is stunning. I still love glimmer mist even though there are a lot of mists tattered angel brand are still the best.
ReplyDeletesandra de @27

Thank you Jackie :) We had a great time with the puzzle and I had so much fun with those hearts!
DeleteYour heart is beautiful - I love the different papers and patterns, and the collaboration piece is stunning - I love how it all works together so beautifully despite each artist being so different.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,
Diana #23
Thanks so much Diana :) I agree that collaboration went very well! The hearts were fun to play with.
DeleteThat collaboration is awesome!! I absolutely love that idea and it turned out amazing!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kadie :) It was really fun to do for sure. I want to do it more!
DeleteThe puzzle looks stunning. I think you should have taken a time share approach to its new home! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who walks around with inky stained fingers! Cara x
ReplyDeleteThank you Cara :) Yes, I think maybe it could have stayed in each person's house a month or so ..and then moved on. The first few months in MY house..lol
DeleteWhat a fabulous concept, and an amazing result on that puzzle piece project (PPP!) Shel - love it! I particularly like how it looks all together, given that there were no rules.
ReplyDeleteThanks Win Dinn :) Yes, that PPP turned out so well. I was a tiny bit worried it would be a hot mess but I love it!
DeleteMore pretty hearts and Valentines! It's only the 6th of February. You will be ready for Valentine's Day, for sure. The Puzzle turned out G-R-E-A-T! It's fun to see it assembled. I'm looking forward to seeing a 'Theme' Puzzle, now. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Daisy :) I will have to see if anyone wants to do the puzzle again. I need to find a kids puzzle that is made of chipboard type paper instead of the pressed wood stuff. Perhaps in a few months...tons of stuff I should work on now!
DeleteThe compilation piece is gorgeous! Stunning colors set off by that black frame. Creative Blessings! Kelly #43
ReplyDeleteThank you Kelly :) The puzzle was really a fun little project :)
DeleteBeautiful work!
