What's on Your Workdesk #351 and Tag it Tuesday!

Hello everyone in blog land :)

I am playing catch up on this beautiful Spring like day. I think it is technically still Winter for most people but here in Tucson, Arizona, USA it is warm and sunny! My phone says it is 66 degrees Fahrenheit outside..so that is 19 Celsius for a lot of people :) The little orange poppies came out last week and this week there are purple and yellow flowers along the road too. So that is Spring like for sure...and I am excited about that! The desert sometimes gets a bad rap for being too tan on tan with bits of brown. Totally untrue of course. But in the Spring we have the brightest crazy colors. The cactus out do themselves to put on a show! So bring on the Spring I say!

So for you visiting deskers...what is on my workdesk you say? Well..it is more like...what have you been working on. (to those who are unsure what a 'desker' is...check out Stamping Ground blog and see :) I was really ill with that stupid flu thing going around last week so I am catching up this week. I totally missed last Tuesday's Tag it Tuesday monthly link part at Cards and More by Sheri so today I made a mixed media altered tag for the link up.  Better late then never right?

Yesterday I worked all day on an illustration for an upcoming family reunion. They are asking for a logo to put on t-shirts and bags and things. This is what I came up with. A family tree with owls to match the logo phrase. I used the Microsoft publisher program to make the circle and text. It took me awhile to figure that out..lol. Then I used Faber castell pitt pens in various sizes to do the picture inside. Those are some nice pens.

I did get up from my sick bed briefly to participate with the Creative Arts Collaboration group hashtag art crawl on Youtube. The theme was #lovespringart and I did not want to miss it!. I made a quick art journal page featuring the snarky bunnies from my backyard.

I guess I have bunnies on the brain as I also did a bunny for my guest appearance on the Kraaft It Live show on February 9th :)

So I guess the theme of my post today? It is SPRING and time for flowers and bunnies :)

Happy Valentine's Day..LOVE to Everyone!

Hello My Art Friends!

Today is one of my favorite holidays. I love that everyone is sharing love! There really can not be enough of that going around! Of course...I do cringe at all the commercials I hear and see demanding that people buy some big item for their significant other. At our house we don't really do that much. But I do always try to make something for my family members...I have always felt that a something made by hand was a much bigger gift of love then a store bought thing. I am not opposed to chocolate and diamonds of course..but you know what I am saying! So I wanted to share here what I have made this month. I feel like my blog is NOT getting love from me since I started making these Youtube videos! I wonder how people do it all? I am constantly forgetting to take step out photos..because I am filming..so I never have photos for the blog anymore :( And as soon as I finish a video...I feel like I am already behind on the next one! I am many of you know that feeling LOL. So..here is what I can do...share my Valentine 'ish' projects here :)

My last post was for Whats on You Workdesk Wednesday..and there was a pile of shimmery papers on my desk using Tattered Angels mists and paints. Well...these are the cards that came out of that mess. I sent these out to friends and family to share my love for them. However..a few might be a bit late as I fell down on the job of getting to the post office..lol

These are the Valentine's I made for my immediate family. They all contain the favorite candies of each person. Some of these people may appreciate the candy more then the covering..but it is the thought that counts right?

This one was a group collaboration project with my little group #fab4creates :) The four of us wanted to do something special for Valentine's Day so we made up a swap hop. Each of us sent another one some items to use that were good for Valentine's Day. Then we each had to make a project using the items. Mine is a photo frame.  Check them out!

Thanks for reading my blog people <3 I love you!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Valentine's - WOYWW #348

Hi Friends,

I wanted to join in with the deskers today and show the fun mess I made on my desk with Tattered Angels paints and Glimmer Mist. I f you have not yet heard of desking...there is an opportunity to hop around the world each Wednesday getting a peek into the creative process of many fun people! Check it out over at Stamping Ground :)

So as you can see I am making some quick Valentine cards while trying out my collection of new Tattered Angel brands mists and paints with some stencils and layering.  Wow are my fingers purpley pink stained :)

In my last post I talked about the popularity of collaborations I have been exposed to since I started joining in with the creative community on Youtube. So in that spirit I would like to share today one fun collaboration I hosted recently. The result of the collaboration is pretty darn awesome! What we did is I found a 9 piece children's puzzle, There were 8 people participating and so I sent our a piece of the puzzle to each person and kept 2 back to do myself. There were no color/theme/style rules. Just decorate the piece in a way that suits you or represents your personality. Once I received all the pieces back I was so amazed at each individual piece of art. I painted the frame black and then inserted all the pieces back in. It really turned out SO COOL. I drew names out of a bowl for the person who wins the puzzle to hang in their studio. Congratulations Lizzie Beth :)
